Wildcats Fall Sports Update (Oct. 20, 2025)

Football

Undefeated Minisink Valley clinched the Division I title with a 37-13 victory over Warwick at C. Ashley Morgan Field on Oct. 17. The Wildcats can still make the playoffs by defeating FDR at home on Oct. 25.

Volleyball

After dropping the first two games, Warwick battled back to defeat Monroe-Woodbury 22-25, 13-25, 25-15, 25-19, 15-11 on Oct. 17.  Peyton Komorsky led the way with 21 assists, five kills and two aces. Evie Boyle had 22 kills, 3 aces and 2 blocks for the Wildcats, who have an 8-5 record.


Girls Tennis

Warwick's doubles team of Bianka Grzesik and Celia Greco reached the finals in the OCIAA tournament before losing to top-seeded Maddy Kantor and Addison Davis of Washingtonville 6-4, 3-6, 6-2. Annika Brezina and Nina Cirillo fell to Goshen's Emma Shurter and Delia McGovern 7-5, 6-2 in the third-place match.

In singles, Warwick's Piper Stewen was defeated by Washingtonville's Ally Davis in the third-place match.

The tennis team will be busy again this week, with three singles players and three doubles teams competing in the Section 9 tournament on Oct. 21-22 at Match Point Tennis in Goshen. The Wildcats will then play for the Section 9 team championship on Oct. 23 in Middletown.


Boys soccer

Joel Andoh and Liam Cutler scored and Dylan Gjertsen had one save for Warwick in a 2-1 victory over Pine Bush on Oct. 17. The Wildcats (12-3, 8-1 Division II) play their final regular-season game this afternoon at Cornwall. A victory would give Warwick a share of the Division II title.

Andoh, Charlie Buston, Nick Ryan and Ezequial Torres scored and Dylan Gjertsen had five saves for Warwick.


Girls soccer

The Wildcats clinched the OCIAA Division II championship with a 4-0 victory over Valley Central on Oct. 17. Seedings for the Section 9 tournament will be announced next week.

Johannah Bradley scored three goals to power the Wildcats past Monticello 9-0 on Oct. 16. Samara Beauregard and Ciara Currid each had two goals. Molly Duffy and Cameron Knox also scored.

Warwick defeated Cornwall 4-0 on Oct. 14.


Boys cross country

Sophomore Leo Shostal finished first in the boys Varsity C race at the 53rd annual Manhattan University Invitational on Oct. 18. He covered the 2.5-mile course at Van Cortlandt Park in 12 minutes, 54.80 seconds. The meet featured 300 teams and about 7,000 runners.

The Wildcats finished their dual meet season with a 25-32 loss at Washingtonville on Oct. 17. Warwick hosts the OCIAA championships on Oct. 25 at Sanfordville Elementary School. The boys race is at 10 a.m. and the girls race at 10:30 a.m.


Girls cross country

Senior Madison Olszewski placed 34th in the girls Varsity C race at the Manhattan University Invitational on Oct. 18 with a time of 16:47.50. The Wildcats finished 14th with 358 points. Warwick will be hosting the OCIAA championship meet on Oct. 25 at Sanfordville Elementary School. The girls race starts at 10:30 a.m.


Girls swimming

Addison Kleveno placed first in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events and was on the winning 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays to lead Warwick to a 103-77 victory over Middletown on Oct. 14.

Jillian Shaw finished first in the 200 individual medley and second in the 100 butterfly. Ciara Herman won the diving event and Breann Walsh was first in the 100 backstroke.  View complete meet results at: https://www.swimcloud.com/results/357086/

The Wildcats will be competing in the OCIAA Division II championship meet on Oct. 23-24 at Washingtonville High School.
