Warwick Valley High School Athletics will participate in the 11th Annual Wounded Warrior Project Challenge, taking on the North Rockland Red Raiders in a battle of [most] spring sports!

The event, which benefits the Wounded Warrior Project, takes place Saturday, April 25, beginning at 7:00 am with a breakfast for the athletes in the WVHS south cafeteria. The Wildcat teams will travel together on seven buses to take on North Rockland in the name of the Wounded Warrior Project.

At 10:00 am, the Warwick Valley and North Rockland high schools' varsity and junior varsity baseball, softball, golf, flag football, and lacrosse teams will play in the name of the Wounded Warrior Project. The athletes are asked to make a suggested $25 donation, which will support the breakfast, WWP tee shirts, and a contribution to WWP. Each school earns two points for a varsity win and one point for a junior varsity win. The overall record between the two teams is 5-4-1, with North Rockland in the lead. However, Warwick Valley has won four of the last five years.

Tee shirts will be on sale throughout the event and donations will be accepted in the Athletic Director’s office during the week, as well as at the event on Saturday.

Please come out and see Wounded Warrior Project speaker and war veteran Tonya Oxendine, who will be speaking at 9:00 am sharp at Casarella Field, North Rockland's football stadium in Thiells, NY. Ms. Oxendine has an incredible story to share. The event is open to the public.
