Park Avenue Volunteer Club collecting donations to benefit WV Humane Society

March 2, 2023
The Park Avenue Volunteer Club, and advisors Ms. Buliung and Ms. Canfield, welcomed Animal Control Officer and Warwick Valley Humane Society employee Ms. Joany Schmick to the school this morning… along with a couple of feline friends!
The Volunteer Club is made up of fourth grade students who share an enthusiasm for community service. Throughout March, the students (the majority of whom are rescue pet owners themselves) will be collecting donations for the Warwick Humane Society.

To raise awareness of their efforts and let people know how and where they can donate, the students put their creative digital skills to work and made a series of fliers to be posted around the school and on social media.

The students learned all about how the Humane Society looks out for the welfare of animals around Warwick, and how the organization is such an important part of the community.

There were no adoptions this morning, but the two WV Humane Society Kitten Ambassadors who came along with Ms. Schmick definitely had some admirers and interest! 💜🐈💛

Enjoy this “meowsome” gallery of pics from Ms. Schmick’s visit, and check out the posters to find out what and how you can donate to the students’ March civic project. Great job, students!
