Parents of juniors: you’re invited to discuss your student’s senior course selections with HS counselors

on January 26, 2017

cover of the HS Curriculum GuideThe Warwick Valley High School Counseling Department invites you to participate in your child’s senior year course selection process. The course selection process is so intricately entwined with the post-graduate planning process that we believe it is in everyone’s best interest to schedule individualized appointments to discuss these topics.

Appointments will start in late February and continue through late March. During this meeting we will discuss course selections for senior year, graduation requirements, and post-high school planning (including how to do a college search). We will also review the Naviance program; its features and how we utilize this tool throughout the college/career search and application process.

Prior to your appointment, please review the curriculum handbook. This handbook includes course descriptions, prerequisites, graduation and grading information, etc. All students will have a presentation on graduation requirements prior to this appointment.

To make an appointment with your child’s counselor, please contact the Guidance office beginning February 13, at (845) 987-3050, ext. 12601, or email your child’s counselor no later than February 22, 2017. After that date the counselors will schedule an appointment for your student and will be welcome to attend or participate by phone.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you soon!
