Middle school 8th grade group visits a booth at the Y2Kids Expo. On April 20, middle school 8th grade classes traveled to the U.S. Army 2nd Aviation Detachment Hangar at Stewart International Airport in New Windsor to participate in the annual Y2Kids Career Expo.Middle school 8th graders tour an army cargo plane at the Y2Kids Expo.

Warwick students joined hundreds of others from surrounding districts in informational sessions and the exploration of a variety of job opportunities and career paths. Represented professions and industries included FBI agent, aviation, culinary, cosmetology, physical therapy, law enforcement, district attorney and surveyor.

A favorite hands-on experience was touring helicopters, army planes and vehicles, and fire trucks. Students enjoyed Expo giveaways such as plane-shaped pens, drawstring backpacks, sunglasses – and cupcakes!

The trip was a great success, thanks to the hard work of middle school home & careers teachers, Ms. Linda Motyka and Ms. Corinne Lane.

The discovery and exploration offered through this experience can inspire career interests and directions in our students.
