Student-Athlete of the Week Chris Morgese

Warwick Valley High School is proud to recognize senior Vito “Chris” Morgese as this weeks’ Bill Garcia Agency ALLSTATE Student – Athlete of the Week.

The senior baseball and football standout has paced the varsity baseball team this spring as a pitcher with a 3–0 record heading into the weekend, and an earned run pitching average (ERA) of less than one run per game.  Chris threw a no hitter against Port Jervis on Monday, April 25, in the Wildcats Home victory over the Red Raiders.

Chris plays in the outfield when he is not pitching, and is batting .390 10 games into the season and has been one of the Wildcats top performers in key situations.

He has been recognized as a scholar – athlete by the NYSPHSAA for football and baseball in his sophomore and junior year with an average of 90 or more over those two years.

Chris is an excellent student with a 90.8 overall grade point average in his senior year, while taking a challenging course load including the Orange Community College Calculus Course and Principles of Engineering in his senior year.  He has committed to Bryant University where he will pitch for the Division I Bulldogs of the Northeast Conference (NEC), one of the top rising baseball programs on the national scene.

Chris is the son of Vito and Maureen Morgese of Warwick.  His brother Daniel is a standout student – athlete in the Warwick Valley Middle School.
