Two seniors sign letters of intent to pursue collegiate athletics

On Tuesday, Nov. 26, two student-athletes put pen to paper and signed their Letters of Intent to pursue athletics at the collegiate level.

Seniors Caroline Fatta and Behailu Bekele-Arcuri signed their acceptance letters in front of family and friends during a ceremony in their honor.

Each of them thanked their families, coaches, teachers and friends for their support and helping them to succeed.

Caroline Fatta 

Caroline plans on attending Binghamton University in Binghamton, New York, where she will compete in Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field for the Binghamton Bearcats.

Career Highlights

  • NYSPHSAA State Champion 4×400 Meter Relay in 2019
  • National Qualifier 4×400 Meter Relay (best relay leg 58.81) in 2019
  • Pole vault PR of 10’
  • Division Champion for Girls Soccer
     

Academic Accomplishments

  • 94.3 GPA, ranked in the top 20 percent of her class.
  • 4 year NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete
  • Member of National Honor Society 

Behailu Bekele-Arcuri 

Behailu plans on attending Penn State University in State College, where he will compete in Cross Country and Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field for the Nittany Lions.       

Career Highlights

  • NYSPHSAA Class A Cross Country State Champion in 2019
  • First male in Section IX to win four Section IX titles in Cross Country (2016 – 2019)
  • Top 10 Finisher in NYS for 4 consecutive years  
  • Section IX Champion in 1 Mile and 2 Mile events
  • County Champion in Steeple Chase 
  • USATF NY Male Runner of the Year (2015, 2016, 2018)
     

Academic Accomplishments

  • GPA of 84.83
  • Gold Star Project participant
  • Leadership Academy, Student Government and Model UN Member
  • Raised over $5000 for his birth community in Ethiopia this past summer
