Juniors & Seniors planning to drive to school must attend mandatory meeting Aug. 30

on August 8, 2018

Please read! This year, changes have been made to the Driving Forum and rules regarding student parking.

Dear Parents and Students,

The Board of Education of the Warwick Valley Central School District will permit students to drive a car to school under certain conditions. This is a privilege that carries responsibilities.

  • All seniors and juniors who plan to drive to Warwick Valley High School during the 2018-19 school year MUST attend the Student Driving Forum:
    Thursday, August 30, 2018
    9:00 am
    Warwick Valley High School auditorium.

  • Parking on the school grounds at Warwick Valley High School is a privilege – not a right – that is afforded to seniors and juniors only with a valid parking permit.
  • Only students should attend this session.
  • Students MUST attend this meeting in order to receive an application for a parking permit.
  • All vehicles parked on school grounds MUST be registered in the main office and display the current updated parking permit at the bottom left corner of the rear window.
  • Please bring to the main office any time after August 30, 2018:
    – your completed application
    – Student Driving Forum attendance card
    – driver’s license
    – proof of insurance
    – registration
    – payment of $25 (check payable to Warwick Valley Central School District)

  • Students will be given a two week “grace period” of driving privileges at the beginning of the school year.
A make-up date for the Driving Forum will be scheduled after school during this grace period for students who were unable to attend the August Driving Forum.

As a reminder, you MUST attend this mandatory meeting if you plan to drive to school.

You must attend – even if you attended last year’s Driver Awareness Forum.

All funds collected help support extra-curricular activities for the Senior Class.

I am looking forward to another amazing school year.

Sincerely,

Dr. Larry Washington
Principal
Warwick Valley High School
