Indoor Track update: press release from Section IX athletics

The following information was received from the Orange County Interscholastic Athletics Association (OCIAA) regarding Section IX athletics on 9/28/2021…

OCIAA and Section IX will not be preventing any athlete from participating in Indoor Track based upon their vaccination status. We will have outdoor meets as the weather allows. However, with West Point in question, the primary indoor venues are Ocean Breeze and the Armory, which both require athletes and coaches to be fully vaccinated for entry.

Since the NYS Championships are being held at Ocean Breeze, we believe we need to inform our athletes, coaches, and, most importantly, the parents so that they can have adequate time to consult their health care providers and make an informed decision.
