Home and Careers Eighth-grade students participate in Y2Kids

The Warwick Valley Middle School Home & Careers Department recently made a trip to Y2Kids with their eighth-grade students.

Y2Kids, an interactive hands-on career exploration program,​ was sponsored and organized by Orange-Ulster BOCES Career & Technical Education (CTEC), and took place on March 18th, 2015 in the US Army 2nd Aviation Detachment at Stewart International Airport in New Windsor. This event helps reinforce career exploration and job readiness which is currently taught within the Home & Careers curriculum.

Middle school students from area school districts, along with their teachers and parents, participate in the event annually. Students view demonstrations and exhibits by local professionals from various career fields.

According to OU-BOCES, this year about 1,900 students from 19 different schools attended.
