Greenwood Lake families welcomed at WVHS Open House

on November 19, 2017

An Open House is held annually at Warwick Valley High School for Greenwood Lake Grade 8 students and their parents.

At this year’s November event, guests enjoyed touring the new HS Media Center, where the Open House introduction was held.

After a performance by the talented HS Meistersingers and a welcome from Superintendent, Dr. David Leach and WVHS Principal, Dr. Larry Washington, a representative from each high school department made a short presentation about their course offerings and services.

Following the presentations, groups of current WVHS students from Greenwood Lake led tours of the building, speaking about the program, extracurricular activities and facilities, and answering questions.

Currently, 165 students from Greenwood Lake attend Warwick Valley High School, and each year the district welcomes a new group of GWL 8th grade students who choose WVHS as their high school.
