Free “Guiding Good Choices” program for parents

on March 16, 2016

Parents can be a great defense against adolescent substance abuse and other problem behaviors. Partnering with the Warwick school district, the Warwick Prevention Coalition will offer a FREE 5-week series to help parents build the skills to guide their children toward better choices.

The Guiding Good Choices program will take place on Wednesdays, March 30 through April 27, from 6-8 p.m. Led by Prevention Professional Annie Colonna, with support by Bonnie Schonfeld, CPP and Beverly Braxton, retired Warwick teacher, this science-based, proven-effective series is designed for parents of children ages 9 to 14.

The Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Council, a Coalition partner, will provide skill-building activities for children while their parents attend the series. Materials for the program are provided through a generous donation by the Warwick Lions Club, another Coalition partner.

To register, contact Annie Colonna at the Warwick Valley Community Center at 845-986-6422 or email her at
