14 WVHS students named to NYSMMA Area All-State music ensembles

Congratulations to the 14 Warwick Valley High School students who have been named to the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Area All-State music groups!

The Zone 9 Area-All State Music Festival will place on Nov. 22 and 23 at Suffern High School in Rockland County.

Selected for Orchestra are Amelia Brown, 2nd violin; Paul Gagliano, 1st violin; Izzie Horowitz, 1st violin; and Dara Jonkoski, 1st violin.

Selected for Concert Band is Timothy Leonard, String Bass.

Selected for Treble Choir are Ellie Hanson, Sophia Romano and Mallory Kauffman.

Selected for Mixed Choir are Julia Mosier, Madeleine Nokeland, Geoffrey Hall, Devlin Olin, Charlie Phelan and Anthony Savino.

Selections are based on solo evaluation results from last spring and teacher recommendation. The Area- All State festival is comprised of the top student musicians from Greene, Orange, Rockland, Sullivan, Orange and Ulster counties.
