Warwick Valley High School Student-Athlete of the Week, Dennis VanDunk

Warwick Valley High School is proud to recognize senior Dennis VanDunk as this week’s Bill Garcia Agency ALLSTATE Student–Athlete of the Week.

Dennis was second in the long jump, and third in both the triple and high jump, scoring 20 points for the Warwick Boys Indoor Track Team on its way to the county title. Dennis was third in the state in the pentathlon this past spring and is currently ranked fourth in the country in the event heading into this year’s season. We anticipate Dennis qualifying for the state meet on March 4 in both the long jump and the high jump.

Dennis is an outstanding student, earning a 99.5 weighted grade-point-average his junior year, and is currently ranked 39th in his class of 367. His course load includes AP Government, AP Art History and AP Literature for college credit. He is also enrolled in the OCCC algebra and trigonometry course.

Dennis plans to be a physician’s assistant, and has applied to Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Hofstra University.

Dennis is a member of Meister’s chorus and is the son of Ellen and Dennis VanDunk. He has two younger sisters, Sophie (8th grade) and Olivia (7th grade), who attend the Warwick middle school.

Warwick Valley High School is proud to recognize Dennis VanDunk as this week’s Student–Athlete of the Week.
