Wire Choir, directed by Elissa Leonard Maynard, is an extracurricular WVCSD pops orchestra that caters to non-traditional music and to students looking for a challenge. It is open to middle school musicians and incorporates leadership from high school players. This group, started 11 years ago, has grown in popularity to 104 members strong.

Wire Choir brings their music to the community in various local venues, including the popular Railroad Green performances during the summer, and now plans to take it on the road! Students will have the opportunity to perform, sightsee, and work with professional string players from the Colorado Symphony, Colorado Springs Chamber Orchestra, Colorado Springs Youth Orchestra, and with internationally-known violinist Richard Fuchs and cellist Jim Todd.

Mark your calendar for April 17 and bring your appetite for great food and music. You’ll help the students spread their wings and play their strings!
