Empty Bowls Ice Cream Social, May 3, will raise funds to fight local hunger

Join students and community members for an ice cream social and family fun—and help raise funds to fight food insecurity in the Warwick area.

Attractions:

  • Assorted ice-cream flavors and toppings bar
  • Non-dairy dessert options
  • Musical performances by students
  • Kids’ activities and clay projects
  • 50/50 and Tricky Tray drawings
  • Beautiful pottery bowls, handmade and donated by Empty Bowls Club members and local potters will be on display and available for purchase. 

Young students sit around a table kneading clay into bowl-like shapes. Some adults look on. A representative of Altice will present a $1,000 award to Warwick Valley Empty Bowls 2019, and $250 to the WVHS Empty Bowls Club. The awards are sponsored by Altice’s “Charity Champions” program which supports community service projects in area high schools.

Proceeds from Empty Bowls will be donated to several Town of Warwick food pantries and organizations that provide free food and meals: Backpack Snack Attack program, Community Kitchen free monthly dinners in Pine Island, and food pantries in Warwick, Florida, Greenwood Lake and Pine Island.
