 School Monitor/Attendant

$17.49 – $19.08 per hour

 

Effective immediately, there is a vacancy for a School Monitor/Attendant in the Warwick Valley Central School District Transportation Department with an estimated time of  2 hours and 25 minutes in the morning (6:30AM – 8:55AM) and 2 hours and 20 minutes in the afternoon (2:05PM – 4:25PM).  Total time per day is 4 hours and 45 minutes.  This is a 10-month position, Monday through Friday.

 

The monitor/attendant will be responsible for supervision of students and maintaining order and discipline of all students while on school property. The monitor/attendant may also perform miscellaneous clerical tasks.

 

Required knowledge, skills and abilities include: general intelligence; good knowledge of school policies and procedures; good interpersonal skills with children and the general public; ability to understand and follow oral and written communications; ability to communicate effectively; ability to control adverse situations; dependability; good powers of observation; resourcefulness; tact; courtesy; good judgment; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

4 – School Bus Drivers

Transportation Department

 

Routes 61, 62, 63 and 64

$23.03 – $26.23 per hour

 

 

Effective immediately, there are 4 vacancies for School Bus Drivers, 10-month, Monday through Friday positions.  The routes are as follows:

 

#61, 62, 63 and 64 Standby/Substitute Driver (4) with an estimated time 2 hours and 15 minutes in the morning (6:00AM – 8:15AM) and 2 hours and 15 minutes in the afternoon (2:00PM – 4:15PM).  Total time per day is 4 hours and 30 minutes Monday – Friday.  These are 10 month, Monday through Friday positions.

 

The work involves responsibility for driving a school bus on an assigned route and may require the performance of minor maintenance tasks in connection with such operation.

 

Required knowledge, skills and abilities include:  good knowledge of driving safety practices and traffic laws and regulations; ability to operate a bus under difficult driving or hazardous road conditions; ability to make minor repairs to the vehicle; general intelligence; ability to establish good relationships with children and others and command their respect; mechanical aptitude; mental alertness; dependability; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

 

Minimum qualifications at time of appointment are possession of a valid and clean Class B Commercial Driver License with Passenger and School Bus Endorsement (CDL-B w/PS) and that the candidate is at least 21 years of age.

Part Time Bus Drivers

The district is hiring part time school drivers on a regular basis. Pay starts at $19 per hour for Class B drivers with P and S endorsements.
