MS Guitar Club concert will go on tonight as scheduled: Fri., Feb. 5, at 7 p.m., at the high school auditorium

on February 5, 2016

Don’t miss this wildly popular annual performance!

On Fri., Feb. 5 at 7 p.m., the Middle School Guitar Club will hold its annual concert at the high school auditorium featuring rock ‘n roll music that crosses the generations. The snow date is Wed., Feb. 10.

A singer performs during the MS Guitar Club concertThis year nearly 200 students in grades 5-8 will take part in the concert, including 70 members of Guitar Club, 80 students from the strings program’s Wire Choir and 20 band members.

Come hear your favorites from across several decades of music, like John Lennon’s “Imagine”; a Frankie Valli medley; “Bad to the Bone” by George Thorogood; AC/DC’s “Back in Black” and Rick Springfield’s “Jessie’s Girl,” along with newer hits like Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” and “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars.

Guitar Club advisors are middle school science teachers John Gouveia and Ed Mesic. They are helped by volunteer Darryl Wilbur, a retired WVMS English teacher. Sound for the concert is provided by Warwick graduate Jack Sinsabaugh.

Tickets are on sale now in the middle school office, and can also be purchased during lunch periods.

Additionally, tickets will be available at the door the night of the concert: $3 for students, $5 for adults.
