Community
As a home to more than 30,000 residents, Warwick is celebrated for its rural charm, rich farmland and vibrant history. Generations of Wildcats have flourished here, coming together through community traditions like Applefest, school plays and concerts, as well as Homecoming Parade – a tradition like no other in the region. Our farmers, business owners and neighbors help shape our students’ educational experiences.
Nestled in the scenic Hudson Valley, Warwick has a rich farming history that remains evident in its rolling hills, tranquil pastures and enduring agricultural traditions. Dairy farming, which once dominated the landscape, no longer occupies its former position of preeminence. Today, Warwick’s residents represent a vibrant mix of people: from farmers who carry on the area’s agricultural legacy to Wall Street bankers who commute to New York City, and much more. Warwick’s dynamic and diverse population provides a unique blend of rural tradition and metropolitan influence.
Warwick’s iconic homecoming parade paints the town purple and gold every year. This end-of-summer tradition draws hundreds to take part in a lively procession down Main Street led by Warwick Valley marching band, followed by groups of students from every school, Wildcats athletics teams, Warwick Valley teachers and administrators, classic cars, and of course members of the homecoming court and the class floats. No one does homecoming like Warwick Valley does homecoming!
Warwick Valley Performing and Visual Arts programs keep our students engaged and our Warwick neighbors entertained year-round. From winter and spring concerts to fall plays and spring musicals, gallery exhibits to makers markets, the community is invited to enjoy. Our artists take pride in delivering performances and pieces that entertain and inspire, and appreciate the generous and enthusiastic support they receive from their audiences.
