District unveils redesigned website

on November 29, 2015

Warwick Valley Central School District is pleased to announce the launch of a new, redesigned version of its website, www.warwickvalleyschools.com. While the new site retains the vast amount of information that was available on the old site, key new features include a cleaner, more attractive design, with enhanced search and navigation features.

“The goal of this new website is to make it easier for users to find the information they’re looking for, so we started this web redesign process by gathering data,” said Superintendent Dr. David Leach. “Last spring we collected input through an online survey and looked at key web analytics to help guide us.”

The new website is categorized by eight major topics: About WVCSD, Academics, Athletics, Board of Education, Budget, Departments, Employment and News. Clicking on any of those links across the top of the site will allow visitors to access the more detailed sub-pages for each.

One of the key features of the new site is a searchable staff directory, which will make it easier than ever to find faculty and staff by name, school building, grade or the subject they teach, as well as links to teacher websites.

Space on the right side of the homepage includes “Quick Links” to frequently-visited pages such as the lunch menu, student resources and e-backpack webpages, along with an agenda-style google calendar of upcoming events.

And, if visitors can’t find what they’re looking for, they can use the powerful “Search” button in the gold section at the top right of each page.

The new design also incorporates a “responsive” layout that adapts to different devices (smart phones, tablets and desktop computers) and multiple web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari) for an optimal viewing experience with easy reading and navigation.

Some important information users will find on the new site include:

The new design has been in the works for about eight months, and was created in cooperation with Capital Region BOCES Communication Service.

“We hope our new website is an informative and user-friendly tool for all,” added Leach.
