Since 2008-09, the Warwick Valley Central School District has presented the Jodi Denmead Outstanding Parent Volunteer Award to deserving volunteers, in honor and memory of Jodi Denmead, who was a very active parent volunteer in our school PTAs.

This year’s recipient is Warwick Valley Middle School PTA Co-President and former SES PTA Co-President, Erica Grundfast.

Presenting this year’s award was Elizabeth Simon, current PTA Council President, who expressed appreciation for Erica’s many years of volunteerism and dedication to the Warwick school district and its students.

Said Elizabeth, “Erica has volunteered hundreds of hours to our community running the Parents As Reading Partners (PARP) and “One School, One Book” programs, Scholastic book fairs, fundraising, sponsorships, and PTA membership. She’s also been a weekly volunteer at our elementary school library, and is a supporter of the Warwick Foundation for Excellence in Learning (WFEL).

Erica has been instrumental to our PTA programs and events. An inspiring leader, she brings her expertise and dedication to her service to our community.”

The PTA Council is the umbrella organization of the four WVCSD PTAs, and the direct liaison and communication link to the Hudson Valley Regional PTA and NYSPTA.
