Nov. 28: Jason & Thomas Nafash, Athletes of the Week

Warwick Valley High School is proud to recognize seniors Jason and Thomas Nafash as this week’s Bill Garcia ALLSTATE Student-Athletes of the Week.

Thomas Nafash, Student-Athlete of the Week

The twin brothers were key contributors to the Wildcat Section IX Boys Cross Country title this fall.

Both Thomas and Jason have been running for the Wildcats since 7th grade, and have paced Warwick to three NYSPHSAA top six finishes over their varsity career.

Thomas and Jason are both exceptional students. Thomas is currently ranked 4th in his class and is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, Leadership Academy and is a Student Senate Class Officer. His weighted Grade Point Average is 102. He has applied to numerous schools, including University of Maryland, U PENN, Cornell, Lehigh and Bucknell.

Jason Nafash, Student-Athlete of the Week

Jason is currently ranked 17th in the class and is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, Leadership Academy, Student Senate and an organizer of the school’s blood drives. His weighted grade point average is 101. He has applied to the University of Maryland, George Washington University, Cornell University and Stevens Institute, among others. Both brothers plan to study engineering.

Thomas and Jason are the sons of Janet and Steve Nafash of Warwick. Their brother Joe is a sophomore at Manhattan College.
