Dec. 19: Olivia Astorino, Athlete of the Week

WVHS Student-Athlete of the Week, Olivia Astorino

Warwick Valley High School is proud to select senior Olivia Astorino as this week’s ALLSTATE Student–Athlete of the Week.

Olivia was a key contributor to the Lady Wildcat soccer team that won the Division Title and finished 15–3–1 as Section IX finalists. Olivia was a standout defender and was selected to the Section IX Exceptional Senior soccer game.

Olivia is an outstanding student, whose weighted grade-point-average is 93.4. She is enrolled in two courses for college Credit (AP Government and AP World History) and has been recognized by the NYSPHSAA (New York State Public High School Athletic Association) as a Scholar–Athlete for soccer in her junior and senior seasons.

Olivia is the Editor-In-Chief of the school newspaper, “The Survey,” a Leadership Academy member, and youth recreation soccer volunteer coach. She was recently involved in coordinating a midnight run to help those in need in New York City (a program driven by St. Stephen’s Church). She has been accepted to the nursing programs at Hartwick College, Mercy College, University of Scranton and Marywood University in Pennsylvania.

Olivia is the daughter of Ben and Eileen Astorino. She has four siblings, including former Wildcats Gabriella (Class of 2010,) Victoria (Class of 2012,) Joe (Class of 2015,) and younger sister Isabella (9th grader.)
