Dear Warwick Valley Middle School Parents, Guardians, and Staff,

The District learned this afternoon, Wednesday, November 18, 2020, that a student at Warwick Valley Middle School tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last in the school building on Friday, November 13, 2020, within his/her infectious period. Contact tracing is complete. District administrators have spoken to the students’ parents and staff required to quarantine. Working along with the Orange County Department of Health (OCDOH), we take considerable time to confirm that no other person was in direct or proximate contact with the student during the infectious period.

In consultation with the OCDOH, Warwick Valley Middle School will remain open.

To keep all stakeholders fully informed, New York State’s COVID Report Card is available for your review.

Thank you for understanding that, due to medical privacy laws, we cannot release the name of the individual with COVID-19.

If you have any questions, please contact your school nurse or building administration.

Sincerely,

Georgianna Diopoulos, Principal

David Leach, Superintendent of Schools
