Dear Warwick Valley School Community,

Today, one of our teachers shared an uplifting video with me of the Warwick Valley High School Orchestra’s masterful winter concert performance. After viewing this performance, I felt compelled to share it with our entire school district community. Under the leadership of Elissa Maynard, these orchestra students created a beautiful mosaic of songs and art from their homes last month. It reflects both their extraordinary artistic abilities and creativity. This video shows how gifted and talented our students are and demonstrates their ability to persevere and showcase their talent in this virtual venue. In this time of great uncertainty and many challenges, our students and their well-being continue to be our priority. We open our doors to them each day and remain steadfast in our support of their hopes and dreams.

This week, faculty, staff, and I welcomed the return to in-person instruction, allowing us to become reacquainted with our students. We are committed in our support of them as they reach their goals and confront today’s challenges head-on. Our students share a vision of a better tomorrow, a world free of harassment, discrimination, and intimidation. With this in mind, I take this opportunity to reassure all of our students that we stand united against hate.

I’m proud of our students and the great things they do during these times of crisis. We stand by them, honor them, and cherish them. We appreciate your support of what we do, and I hope you enjoy our orchestra’s performance.

Sincerely,

David Leach
