Since 2008-09, the Warwick Valley Central School District has presented the “Jodi Denmead Outstanding Parent Volunteer Award” to deserving volunteers, in honor and memory of Jodi Denmead, a very active parent volunteer in our school PTAs.

This year’s recipient is Warwick Valley Central School District’s  Board of Education President and enthusiastic PTA volunteer, Sharon Davis.

Presenting this year’s award was Melanie Kolacy, current PTA Council President, who expressed appreciation for Sharon’s many years of volunteerism and dedication to the Warwick school district and its students.

Said Melanie, “Sharon is always willing to help! She was Sanfordville Elementary PTA President, and was an active member of the playground committee that got the bee/honeycomb play structures installed.

As chair of the SES enrichment program, she got instructors, organized the classes, and found volunteers to help run it – it was a big PTA program.

Then, when her youngest daughter moved on from SES, Sharon was elected to the WVCSD Board of Education – and she’s been serving on the Board ever since!”

The PTA Council is the umbrella organization of the four WVCSD PTAs, and the direct liaison and communication link to the Hudson Valley Regional PTA and NYSPTA.
