Almost Main comes to Warwick Nov. 1-2

This fall, join the Warwick Valley High School Drama Club for a heartwarming night of great theater when it brings Almost, Maine to Warwick for the first time.

Almost, Maine, a collection of two-person scenes by John Cariani, has been the most popular production for high schools this decade. In fact, 2019 marks the fifth consecutive year the play has garnered the number one spot in this category. Comprised of nine individual vignettes, Almost, Maine’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in the strangest ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. Love is lost, found, and confounded. And life for the people of Almost will never be the same. Poignant, humorous and sometimes heartbreaking, this unique romantic comedy will leave our audience members warmed on a crisp autumn evening.

Returning to direct the production is the Club’s advisor, Nick DiLeo, with Donna Nestor serving as producer. The sets are constructed by the set design class at WVHS under the coordination of art teacher Rocco Manno. The cast of Almost, Maine is comprised of nineteen actors, ranging from freshmen to seniors, with another twenty students serving as the stage crew.

Almost, Maine will be performed on Friday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m., and on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 for general admission and $6.00 for senior citizens. No advance tickets will be sold for this production; instead, the Club’s box office team will be available one hour before each scheduled curtain time to sell tickets. If residents have a question, they may contact the Club at 987-3050, voicemail box #22500, or via email at wvhsdramaclub@wvcsd.org.
