Community Enrichment

About the Program

Collaborations between the school district, local organizations and community members create enrichment opportunities for residents and their families. In the event of cancellations due to rain or snow, please check the district’s website, tune into your local radio station or call the district office at (845) 987-3000 before 4 p.m. 

Lap Swim

Morning and afternoon lap swim will be open weekdays during the first and second trimesters from Sept. 16 through Jan. 24 and Jan. 27 through June 12. The cost is $85 per semester; payment must be made in advance. Morning lap swim will be open from 5:45-7:15 a.m. and evening lap swim will be open from 8:30-9:30 p.m. 

Children’s Instructional Swim Program     

Registration for swim lessons for children between the ages of 6 months and 12 years old will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020, from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the Warwick Valley High School, Main Lobby. (Snow date February 1.)

 

Lessons are up to 45 minutes long and occur once a week for 6 weeks. The cost is $50 for the first child and $45 for each additional child. The program starts the week of February 24th.

Family Recreational Swim

Beginning Sept. 27, family recreational swim will be open on Fridays from 7-8:30 p.m. The cost is $3 per swimmer; payment can be made at the door.

The lap and recreational swim programs follow the school schedule. Swimmers, please take note of the following dates:

Adult Co-Ed Volleyball

Adults interested in Co-Ed Volleyball may choose between two sessions instructed by Mary Calogero. To sign up for either of the sessions, please contact Mary by calling or texting (845) 545-0450. 

  • An 8 week session that takes place on Tuesdays, beginning Jan. 28. The cost is $60.
  • A 10 week session that takes place on Thursdays, beginning Jan. 23. The cost is $75.

Aquatic Fitness

Beginning Feb. 24th, a six week aquatic fitness class will be held on Mondays and Wednesday from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in the high school pool. No swimming skills are required for this workout designed to tone muscles and improve your flexibility and cardiovascular system. Aquatic fitness is led by instructor Joan Zombek. The cost is $60.

Five-Hour Pre-Licensing Course

This course is required by the Department of Motor Vehicles. Enrollees must have a Learner’s Permit and pay a $30 fee. The course is offered once each month in room 155 in the Warwick Valley High School. For more information, contact Deb Rogan at (845) 987-3000 ext. 10526 or drogan@wvcsd.org

Summer Enrichment Program 

The Summer Enrichment Program offers children a unique opportunity to learn and have fun at the same time. Through the program, children will be able to build upon skills and explore and discover new interests.
