WVCSD joins Tri-State Consortium

July 20, 2018

The Warwick Valley Central School District has become the first Orange County district to join the Tri-State Consortium, a prestigious network of some of the highest-achieving public school districts in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

As a member, Warwick Valley will benefit from the consortium’s expertise, its rigorous review process and the resulting feedback as well as its acclaimed training and personnel-development opportunities for principals, administrators and other district leaders.

Warwick Valley joins a roster that includes the Chappaqua Central School District, Scarsdale Public Schools, Briarcliff Manor, New Canaan, Franklin Lakes and Princeton Public Schools.

Districts must apply for membership, and Warwick Valley is the first school district in Orange County to attain membership since the Consortium was founded in 1994.

Personnel development and training opportunities include the six study groups: elementary principals, middle school principals, high school principals, assistant principals, curriculum leaders and superintendents.

These meet four or five times annually and focus on issues relating to leadership and student learning.

Member districts of the Tri-State Consortium will visit Warwick Valley and review its academic programs.

Their findings will include commendations on strengths and, more important, suggestions for growth, Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Leach said.
