WVCSD Seeks Current and Retired Educators to Help Administer PSAT on
Oct. 15, 2011
All 10th and 11th grade students were invited to take the
Preliminary Scholastic Aptitute Test (PSAT) at no cost to
the students on Sat., Oct. 15, 2011.
Current and retired teachers, counselors, administrators or
other educators who are familiar with test administration
are needed to help Warwick’s 10th and 11th-Grade students by
volunteering to proctor the PSAT on Oct. 15 at Warwick
Valley High School. WVCSD needs 30 volunteer current and
former educators to help make its new “Take the PSAT for
Free” initiative a success. If you are a current or former
educator and can volunteer to help on Oct. 15, please
contact the Superintendent’s secretary, Ms. Susan Laroe, at
slaroe@wvcsd.org, or call 845-987-3010.

New Parent Portal Gives Parents Access to Their Child's Information
The Warwick Valley Central School
District is pleased to offer families of students a new program,
"SchoolTool Parent Portal" for accessing school information. Parents and
Guardians will be able to securely access their child’s information via
the Internet. Viewable information includes: emergency contacts,
attendance, discipline, schedule, report card grades and grades 3-8
State Assessment results. Please read/fill out the

Eighth, ninth, tenth and eleventh-grade parents and students should not
miss this interactive and provacative presentation on the selective
college admissions process. Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at 6 p.m. in the
Warwick Valley High School Auditorium.

Free Online PSAT and SAT Prep Course
To help students get ready for the PSAT and the SAT, the high school has
partnered with Triumph College Admissions to offer a PSAT and SAT
prepartation course. This online course is available to all WVHS
students free of charge. Students will need to enter a school code the
first time they log on. The school code is 1628136348.

National Hispanic College Fair to be held at Middletown High School
Middletown High School will host the "National Hispanic College Fair" on
November 17, 2011 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the high school
theatre.

Undergraduate Program in Educational Theatre at New York University
NYU offers a baccalaureate degree in Educational Theatre that provides a
four-year liberal arts curriculum to prepare students to use theatre as
a means to teach and transform lives, both in the classrooom and on
stage. This program meets the academic requirements for initial New York
State teacher certification in Theatre, Grades K-12. Click
