WVCSD - Capital Projects, summer 2009

District
Construction Projects
set to start
June 25, 2009 -
As part of the Capital Project Phase One
approved by voters last June, several construction
projects will be taking place throughout the district this
summer:
* The Middle School roof replacement
* Park Avenue roof replacement and masonry restoration
* Warwick Valley High School limited masonry rehabilitation
(For more information on the Capital Project, click here to read newsletter from June, 2008 - pdf)
Parking
during construction at
the Middle School
Roofing work is tentatively scheduled to
start on Mon., June 29 at the Middle School and Park Avenue
Elementary schools. During the construction, some parking
areas may be temporarily unavailable. The district is asking
for the patience of both staff and visitors, and is working
with the contractor to have the work completed as quickly as
possible. However, given the size of the Middle School roof
in particular, this will be a lengthy project.
Employees in the Middle School, Dorothy C. Wilson Education
Center and visitors should park in the lot between the High
School and Middle School, but not the school bus loading
area. The school bus loading area will also have "blacktop
resealing" beginning on or around June 30.
Those employees and visitors who cannot walk from the lot
between the High School and Middle School must only use the
one row of parking spots closest to the tennis courts. The
Central Administrator parking area and handicapped parking
for Central Administration offices can only be used for
parking by the Central Administrators and those who need to
use the handicapped parking space.
Director of Buildings and Grounds Steve Salvato will relay
information to staff via email and signs will be posted at
the Middle School office and Central Administration
reception to keep everyone informed of the situation.
The district recognizes this is an inconvenience and
appreciates your cooperation in keeping the area open to the
contractor as much as possible.
Any questions should be directed to Mr. Salvato at 987-3000
