• Ben B. earns OCL decathlon championship.
• Sam C.’s 2 HR’s power Warwick to Win over Minisink.
• Ryan M. Leads Way to Golf Division Championship.
• John K. contributes 11 points in LAX Win.
• District to Recognize 232 Scholar – Athletes on May 20th.

ben b. wins Orange County Decathlon

Ben B. put maximum effort into improving his decathlon score by 600 points on his way to the Orange County Decathlon Title. Ben, who excels in the pole vault, scored a total of 4789 points in the 2008 Decathlon. Warwick Senior Tom F. was second with 4180 points. Samantha K. and Ashley V. both excelled in the throwers pentathlon held at Monroe-Woodbury earlier in the week. OCL Track Championships to be held at Warwick Valley Friday 5/23 and Saturday 5/24. Boys and girls teams will compete for OCL titles.

sam c’s two Hr’s Power Wildcats to Victory

The Wildcats earned a big Game 3 victory over Minisink, which may prove important toward earning the team a home game in the Sectional Playoffs. Sam C’s two homeruns and homeruns by Eric S. and Greg V. proved to be the difference in the 11–10 victory. Bryan H. earned the win and went the full 7 innings for the Wildcats. Team travels to Kingston 5/19 and to Monticello on 5/20. Kingston game is a 4:30 start at Grunner Field.

Girls take one from Pine Bush

Girls Softball is working toward earning a berth in the Section 9 tournament. The girls defeated Pine Bush 5- 3 early in the week to bring their overall record to 9 – 12. Kate S. earned the win and Elise P. got her first career save. Nicole V. had two hits in the win. Victories over Washingtonville and Valley Central this week would get the team into the Sectional Playoffs behind first-year coach Shawn Meyers.

Stephen C. Saves 14 vs. FDR – John K. Earns 11 Points vs. Wallkill

Stephen C. netted 14 saves vs. FDR as the Wildcats cruised to a 12–5 victory. Senior John K. led an offensive explosion against Wallkill to defeat the Panthers 18–3 on senior day. John K. scored 4 goals and had 7 assists, Byron Q. scored 4 goals and Emmit O. contributed 3 goals in a wining effort. The Wildcats take on Valley Central this week (5/19) for division implications. 'Cats are now 10–7 overall.

Girls LAcrosse Defeats Monroe-Woodbury in last 11 seconds

The Warwick Girls Lacrosse team defeated Washingtonville and Monroe-Woodbury this week to bring their record to 10–6. The win over Monroe-Woodbury avenged an earlier season loss in Wildcat Country. Warwick’s victory was aided by Ally S.’s 10 saves. Hayley W. scored 3 goals and Alison F., Jessica P., Renee R. and Shannon M. each scored a goal. Girls take on Valley Central on Tuesday, 5/18 at Sanfordville Elementary School.

peter k. third in OCL meet

Peter K. finished third in the OCL meet this past week. He will continue on in the Section 9 meet on 5/21 at SUNY New Paltz.

Boys Finish Regular Season 8-0 Division Champions

The boys’ golf team kept their perfect season in league play intact as they defeated Valley Central 214–254. Team runs their record to 14 -1 and 8 – 0 in division behind Ryan M.’s 38, Dylan F. 41, Jack L. 43, Rich L. 45 and Joe M. 47.

Girls finish with winning record

The girls’ golf team lost a tough match to Valley Central and played NFA tough. Team looks to get ready for the OCL meet at West Point. Team is currently 7 – 6 overall.
