Read and Feed bulletin boardEvery February, Sanfordville students participate in the Parents As Reading Partners (PARP) program. Sanfordville librarian Linda DeVries said the annual three-week PARP program is meant to encourage parents and children to read together. Besides being fun, the proven benefits of reading aloud to children include nurturing children’s love of the written and spoken word and helping them develop language skills.
Each year brings a new theme meant to inspire young minds to get lost in a book. This year’s theme is “Read and Feed.” Kids will be reading for the purpose of raising money to purchase and gift animals to struggling families in impoverished countries throughout the world. MORE
