Park avenue's manners moments
Every morning we include in the PA
announcements a Manners Moment,
which emphasizes respect and responsibility.
Our Manners Moments for the 07-08 school year:
September 6 - September 14: Greetings
September 17 - September 21: Please Follow Directions
September 24 - September 28: Saying “Excuse me.”
October 1 - October 5: Please keep your hands to yourself
when angry or upset.
October 8 - October 12: Saying, “I’m sorry.”
October 15 - October 19: Saying “You’re welcome.”
October 22 - October 26: Please take turns and share.
October 29 - November 2: Peace - Be kind to your classmates
November 5 - November 16: Please wait for the other person
to finish speaking before you speak.
November 19 -
November 30: Please always use appropriate language.
December 3 - December 14: Please raise your hand before
speaking when in class.
December 17 - December 28: Please make eye contact with the person you are speaking with.
January 1 - January 11: Please stay to the right side of the
stairwell & hallway except during fire drills.
January 14 - January 25: Please do not walk through games when others are playing.
January 28 - February 1: Please do not throw a piece of
equipment when angry.
February 4 - February 15: Please hold the door open for the
next person.
February 18 - February 29: Please push in your chairs.
March 3 - March 14: Please clean up after yourself.
March 17 - March 28: Please do not touch other peoples’
things.
March 31 - April 11: Please do not pick on or tease your
fellow classmates.
April 14 - April 18: Please walk quietly in the halls.
April 28 - May 2: Please do not “cut” in line.
May 5 - May 16: Saying “Please” and “Thank You”
May 19 - May 30: Please go out of your way this week to do
something helpful for someone.
June 1 - June 27: Review of Year’s Manners Moments
When appropriate, please reinforce the Manners Moments at
home.
