Annie Jr.

square bulletPark Avenue Students Presented Annie Jr. March 27 and 28logo from the play "Annie Jr."

Park Avenue performed Annie Jr. on March 27 and 28 and performed for the entire school body on March 26. Students began auditioning in October and rehearsing in November. They worked very hard after school and on Saturdays to create sets, perfect their acting and singing to create a successful performance. Mrs. Heller was so very pleased with how far they came. Despite all of our early snow days, they all memorized their lines over winter break and came back in January ready to go!

One of our new fifth grade students at Park Avenue, Paul M., entered our district in September and was cast as Oliver Warbucks. He has really made a lasting impression with everyone! He nailed his lines with character and great expression almost as if he were the understudy of Albert Fini from the movie rendition of Annie.

We have had exceptional parent volunteers - such as Mrs. Sherry Gyuro, who was a professional dancer - work with Mrs. Heller to teach the students dances and movements on stage.

Ms. Mindy Sharp is our Music Director and she worked with the students in the beginning with the piano and now with the accompaniment CD and helped our young actors/singers to learn their queues.

We had a great group of talented young artists work on our sets and the stage crew has really smoothly carried and moved our performance along!

Our entire cast and crew really worked so hard and we have all had a lot of fun doing it! It is so impressive to see a production come so far. This was Mrs. Heller's first directed production and she was so impressed by the hard work and dedication of all of the students. It is a new side that she got to see of her young artists!
