Honor Society
Nine seniors and twenty-five juniors inducted
On Tues., Dec. 1, 2009, the Warwick Valley High School was proud to induct thirty-four new members into the Henry C. Lamoreaux Warwick Chapter of the National Honor Society.
More than just an honor roll of sorts, the National Honor Society is the nation's premier organization recognizing outstanding high school students who demonstrate excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service and character.
As the guest speaker at the induction ceremony, Assistant Principal Mr. Chuck Odom reminded students that "Through your academic achievements you have clearly placed yourselves among the brightest students here at Warwick High." After mentioning to the audience that academic excellence is not the only criterion for induction into NHS, he went on to say, "Your presence here indicates that you have made Warwick, both your school and community, a better place, and for that we thank you."
Mrs. Annie Streiff, High School Principal, commented that the National Honor Society embraces the highest standards of scholarship, service, leadership and character as the criteria for membership. Members from the Class of 2010 and the Class of 2011 inducted include:
