Lillian Greibeslandsquare bulletstar athlete signs letter of intent

One Warwick high school student is officially ready to run with the pack. The Wolfpack that is.

Senior cross country and track and field star Lillian Greibesland signed a Letter of Intent for Scholarship Tues., Feb. 16 to attend North Carolina State University. As part of the university’s division one track program, the student-athlete will compete in Cross Country, Indoor Track and Outdoor Track for the Lady Wolfpack.

Lillian is considered one of the top runners in the Northeast and has overcome tremendous odds at returning to the top of her game. On Oct. 4, 2008 - fall of her junior year - Lillian suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon while competing at the Pepperdine Invitational in Malibu, California. Surgery to repair the ruptured tendon was performed on Oct. 8, 2008 by Dr. Andrew Elliot at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Eight months of rehabilitation followed. Lillian’s hard work and determination paid off as she returned to form this month by winning the county championship in the 1000-meter run.
