Congratulations to the Wind Ensemble, Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble for winning 3 Gold medals at the Cedar Point Music Festival this past weekend!

concert band
Band is a course encompassing all aspects of instrumental music. The goal of the band is for its members to constantly progress in order to play more challenging and more interesting concert band literature. Prerequisite: Students must be proficient on traditional band instruments and able to read music. See Curriculum Guide for more information. (pdf)
wind
ensemble
The wind ensemble is a performing group
designed for more advanced study of traditional, classical
and contemporary wind band literature. Prerequisite:
Audition and Teacher Recommendation.

jazz
ensemble
The Jazz Ensemble is an after-school club directed by Mr. Persad. Students must audition to be able to participate in the Jazz Ensemble. Jazz Club meets Wednesdays from 2 to 3:00 p.m. The ensemble works on classical jazz pieces and improvisation and performs at several concerts during the school year. This year, the Jazz Ensemble had the honor of performing at the first Board of Education meeting of the school year.

The Orchestra program is celebrating its
10th anniversary this year!
Students who play violin, viola, cello,
or string bass are invited to participate in the Orchestra.
Students receive a weekly homogeneous group lesson and a
daily ensemble rehearsal. A variety of repertoire will be
studied from different music periods. An audition is
required for students who are not participating in a formal
school instrumental program prior to enrolling in the
course.
Prerequisite: Students must be proficient on one of the

orchestra
Club
Orchestra Club meets after school with Ms. Gould. Students in Orchestra Club have an opportunity to learn more - beyond the regular orchestra repertoire. Students can learn and practice NYSSMA solo music, All County music, Area All State and chamber music on a more individual basis. Students who have a desire to play and learn more are encouraged to join. See Ms. Gould for more information.
chorus groups
There are several chorus group courses
offered at the high school - Mixed Chorus, Meistersingers,
Select Women's Chorus and Select Men's Chorus. Mr. Clark is
the instructor for all groups.
