Through the Science Research in the high school (SRHS) program, students conducted and presented results of their original science research

Warwick Valley High School's University in the High School Science Research Symposium (an outreach program of the State University of New York at Albany) took place Thurs., June 11. There were poster presentations and senior oral presentations. Keynote speaker Eve Tuck presented "The Power of Youth Research."

May 18, 2009 - Mr. Ed Sattler, environmental science teacher at Warwick Valley High School, has been named by the Science Teachers Association of New York State - Southeast Section (STANYS-SE) as an "Outstanding Science Teacher." Nominees for the award must have five years' teaching experience, demonstrate exemplary science teaching and exemplify the professional teacher in attitude, approach, diligence, dedication and knowledge. Mr. Sattler was honored at a dinner on May 29.

"Interns Inspire" $3,000 Scholarship Contest, sponsored by The Gallery Collection  To enter, write a blurb in 140 characters or less about what makes your generation unique and what a new generation will bring to today's world. The contest is currently underway, and submissions will be accepted through August 15, 2009. **Students must be 16 years of age or older at the time of entry.
