Warwick students in grades 8 and 10 asked to participate in optional, county-wide survey
Dec., 2014 - On Fri., Dec. 19, Warwick Valley High School will be working with Orange County and NYS agencies to conduct a county-wide survey of middle and high school students in grades 8 and 10. Results will help improve understanding of risks they may face for developing health problems like smoking, underage drinking and other drug use. selected to All-Eastern Honors Band Ensemble
Dec., 2015 - The National Association for Music Education (NAfME) has selected the most musically talented high school students in the Eastern region of the United States to perform in the 2015 NAfME All-Eastern Honors Ensembles. Clayton Thompson, a junior in the WVHS Honors Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble, is among those talented students.

Dec. 9, 2014 - As a community service project, WVHS students (L to R) Samantha Aponte, Alivia Zimmerman and Sharleigh Carter filled and delivered two carloads of food and clothing donations to the Alamo/Community Outreach Center for Thanksgiving. They have also placed collection boxes in the Middle School for additional donations of non-perishable food and gently used toys for the Alamo. The boxes will remain in the MS until Dec. 17.

Dec. 1, 2014 - During the spring semester, Driver Education will be offered by an independent driving school. Students are chosen by lottery, with priority given to seniors and juniors.

Warwick Valley High School has been named a 2014 New York State Reward School.
Nov. 18, 2014 - Congratulations to our WVHS art students who attended the Hudson Valley Regional Portfolio Day at the Henry Wallace Center in Hyde Park. Over 50 colleges across the country were in attendance to review our students' portfolios. Students and their parents had the opportunity to learn about different majors and programs for successful careers in the arts. Delaware College of Art and Design, Art Institute of Chicago, Maine College of Art and Montserrat are just a few colleges that accepted our students portfolios into their programs at the event.
WVHS elves & other fun opportunities for community service
To fulfill some community service hours, Isabelle Hayes, Sara Dallendorfer and Katie Krahulik volunteered as elves at the Pine Island Chamber of Commerce Annual Tree Lighting on Nov. 12. The evening featured the tree lighting, Meistersingers caroling, hot chocolate and cookies. For community service opportunities, see Mrs. Scheinert in the WVHS Guidance office.

GWL students & parents welcomed at WVHS Open Houses
Dec. 2, 2014 - Current 8th grade students
in the Greenwood Lake school district and their families were
welcomed at an Open House at WVHS on Nov. 6. A second Open
House, for GWL students currently in grades 9, 10 & 11 and
their families, was held on Dec. 1. Several of the 46 students
from Greenwood Lake who currently attend WVHS shared their
experiences and led building tours. GWL students have the
option of selecting WVHS as their high school next year.
WVHS student wins best of show at Girl's World Expo
Oct. 20, 2014 - Congratulations to WVHS student, Emily Held, who won best of show at the Girl’s World Expo, held Oct. 12 at Sport Fitness and Fun in Florida, NY. The Girls World Expo is a nationwide event for teen girls from 11-18 years of age. Students across the county showcased their achievements in the arts, while participating in workshops and listening to motivational speakers in business, government and the arts.
