Nov. 25, 2014 - Warwick Valley Central School District has been placed on the College Board’s 5th Annual AP® District Honor Roll for significant gains at Warwick Valley High School in student access and success (access to AP courses and success on AP exams). Nov. 18, 2014 - Congratulations to our WVHS art students who attended the Hudson Valley Regional Portfolio Day at the Henry Wallace Center in Hyde Park. Over 50 colleges across the country were in attendance to review our students' portfolios. Students and their parents had the opportunity to learn about different majors and programs for successful careers in the arts. Delaware College of Art and Design, Art Institute of Chicago, Maine College of Art and Montserrat are just a few colleges that accepted our students portfolios into their programs at the event.

Nov. 14, 2014 - WVHS student-athletes Derek DiBona, Juliana Marcolini and Dan (DJ) Peterson have signed with the University of Connecticut, Pace University and DePaul University respectively.

WVHS elves & other fun opportunities for community service
To fulfill some community service hours, Isabelle Hayes, Sara Dallendorfer and Katie Krahulik volunteered as elves at the Pine Island Chamber of Commerce Annual Tree Lighting on Nov. 12. The evening featured the tree lighting, Meistersingers caroling, hot chocolate and cookies. For community service opportunities, see Mrs. Scheinert in the WVHS Guidance office.

GWL students & parents welcomed at WVHS Open House
Open House for Greenwood Lake's upper-classmen set for Mon., Dec. 1
Nov. 6, 2014 - Current 8th grade students
in the Greenwood Lake school district and their families were
welcomed at an Open House at WVHS. Several of the 46 students
from Greenwood Lake who currently attend WVHS shared their
experiences and led building tours. GWL students have the
option of selecting WVHS as their high school next year. A
second Open House, for GWL students currently in grades 9, 10
& 11 and their families, will be held on Mon., Dec. 1.

WVHS student wins best of show at Girl's World Expo
Oct. 20, 2014 - Congratulations to WVHS student, Emily Held, who won best of show at the Girl’s World Expo, held Oct. 12 at Sport Fitness and Fun in Florida, NY. The Girls World Expo is a nationwide event for teen girls from 11-18 years of age. Students across the county showcased their achievements in the arts, while participating in workshops and listening to motivational speakers in business, government and the arts. May 6, 2014 - Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo has announced the launch of the this link for more information and how to apply online for this opportunity., which will encourage the best and brightest high school students to pursue high-demand, high-tech careers and build their future in New York. The program provides a full SUNY or CUNY tuition scholarship to the top 10% of students in every New York high school if they major in a STEM field and work in a STEM job in New York State for five years after graduation.
