Online scheduling now open for March 12 Parent-Teacher Conferences
March 2, 2015 - Warwick Valley High School is now using Ptc.fast.com software to schedule Parent-Teacher Conferences. This website allows parents/guardians to sign up for conferences, receive an automatic confirmation, as well as a reminder of their conference date.
Parent-teacher conferences are not mandatory and are scheduled on a first come, first served basis. If you wish to discuss your student’s academic performance, you may schedule a conference with individual teachers on Thursday, March 12. Conference times are from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Please sign up for one conference per your child’s teacher(s). Since all teacher names will be listed, be sure to use your student’s schedule to guide you to specific teachers.

Warwick Valley High School Principal makes court debut
Former Globetrotter to play in faculty basketball benefit game
March 2, 2015 - This Fri. night, March 6, will feature the 19th ULTAMANIA Faculty Basketball game at Warwick Valley High School, with doors opening at 6:45 p.m. Warwick HS's new Principal, Dr. Larry Washington, will make his basketball court debut in the Warwick Valley. Dr. Washington is a former European professional basketball player, and played with the Harlem Globetrotters before beginning his career in education. Tickets are available through the district's physical education teachers for $7, or may be purchased from the Athletic Office at 987–3050 ext. 12880. Proceeds will be split between the Warwick Lion’s Club and the Warwick Valley Teachers Association Scholarship Fund for Warwick seniors.

WVHS Junior Prom to be held on April 17
Feb. 5, 2015 - The Warwick Valley High School Junior Prom is just around the corner. This year, the prom will be on April 17 at Anthony’s Pier 9 in New Windsor, NY from 7:00-11:00 p.m. Tickets will ONLY be sold March 24, 25, and 26 after school in Room 129. "Flags Around the Classroom" project at WVHS
Feb. 17, 2015 - WVHS Social Studies teacher, Holly Marcolina, believes that all teachers want their classroom to have a welcoming atmosphere. Says Ms. Marcolina, part of creating that ambiance is to have decorations that connect to the curriculum, interest the students, and—silly as it seems—actually stay on the walls with minimal use of double-sided tape! Her solution is "Flags Around the Classroom," a project featured on the National Education Assoc. website. Click here to read the article.

AWPL Foundation scholarship competition - May 2 deadline
Feb. 1, 2015 - The Albert Wisner Public Library Foundation is again offering college scholarships to be awarded in a writing competition. Applicants will submit an essay on the following topic: “What singly important message have you taken from a teacher that will inform your entire life?” The essay is intended to reflect upon a message, idea or lesson - not upon a specific, named teacher or mentor. Authors of the three essays judged to be the best of those submitted will each receive $1,000 toward the cost of college tuition, paid directly to their college. WVHS Boys Basketball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony celebrates two former standouts
Jan. 30, 2015 - The Warwick Valley High School Boys Basketball Program and the Hall of Fame Committee inducted two former Wildcats into the Warwick Boys Basketball Hall Of Fame on Friday, January 30. Joseph Krasniewicz, ’54 and Varick Ward, ’92 were selected by the Boys’ Basketball Hall of Fame Committee for their past accomplishments on the hardwood as former Wildcats. The committee noted that their efforts helped shape the history of Warwick Wildcat Basketball and serve as an inspiration to the current generation of players. More.

WVHS student winner of Red Ribbon photo contest
January, 2015 - Congratulations to Taylor Mosher for winning The 2014 Red Ribbon Photo Contest. During Red Ribbon awareness week, Taylor decorated the front door of her home with this year's theme, "Love Yourself. Be Drug Free." Her piece displayed a silhouette of a dancer with a red ribbon in the shape of a heart. Her entry accumulated the highest amount of votes for the New York/New Jersey region. Taylor will receive an ipad, and $1,000 donation to our school district, which will be used to support drug prevention and education about the dangers of drugs.
