AWPL college application essay one-on-one help - Sept. 23 & 30
High school seniors can bring a rough draft of their college application essay and get help turning it into an essay they can be proud of. Plan to attend both sessions. Call the Albert Wisner Public Library's Help Desk to set up an appointment at 986-1047 ext. 3. Registration is required and spaces are limited.
WVHS Homecoming week begins Oct. 20
Sept. 9, 2014 - WVHS Homecoming week will begin on Mon., Oct. 20 and the Homecoming game will be played against Valley Central on Sat., Oct. 25 at 1:00 pm. Homecoming '14 will consist of a themed spirit week, float building at the bus garage, in-school pep rally, parade through the village of Warwick, the Wildcats' football game, and the Homecoming Dance, which will take place on Saturday night at 7:00 pm. More information will follow regarding specific details for the upcoming events. Please join us to celebrate what Warwick, our schools and our community are all about, since Homecoming is a celebration of purple and gold. Go Wildcats!
2014 parking permits for student drivers - update
Note change to parking fee requirement - fee now suspended
Updated Aug. 29, 2014 - Students who plan to park at the high school anytime during the school year were required to attend a mandatory meeting on driver safety August 27 at the high school. If you and a parent/guardian attended the mandatory meeting, please bring your completed application and attendance card to the high school office any time after August 27.
WVHS art student recognized with prestigious OC award
Sept. 9, 2014 - In recognition of her talent in art, WVHS student Alexis Zarow was selected as the Orange County Arts Council's 2014 "Youth with Exceptional Promise" honoree this year. Alexis was recommended for the award by art teacher Shari Blauner, who notes, "This is very prestigious, as only one high school student in all of Orange County, who is involved in either art or music, wins this award. For Lexie, it is well deserved. She always goes above and beyond, and works hard to improve herself at every step." In the seven years the "Youth with Exceptional Promise" award has been presented, Alexis is the second WVHS student to have received it.

May 6, 2014 - Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo has announced the launch of the this link for more information and how to apply online for this opportunity., which will encourage the best and brightest high school students to pursue high-demand, high-tech careers and build their future in New York. The program provides a full SUNY or CUNY tuition scholarship to the top 10% of students in every New York high school if they major in a STEM field and work in a STEM job in New York State for five years after graduation.
