With the new school year upon us, much attention has been paid by health officials, government leaders and the media to the H1N1 flu virus, sometimes called "swine flu."

The Warwick Valley Central School District is well aware of the concerns and is taking precautionary steps. We are in consultation with experts at Orange Ulster BOCES health/safety risk management services and the Orange County Health Department, and are constantly monitoring the state Department of Health and US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention websites for the latest information.

To be sure that families receive messages and are kept up-to-date, it is very important that they provide their child's school with their most current information, including telephone number(s) and email address, and let the school know if any of that information changes. WVCSD will be guided by health officials in decisions related to the flu. Any new and pertinent information will be posted to this site.

Parents, guardians and community members are encouraged to sign up for the district's e-mail alert system, School News Notifier (SNN.) Visit the homepage and click on the SNN link to the right.
