
"ENERGIZE WARWICK" - ENERGY SAVING CONTEST ANNOUNCED
Local Not-for-Profit Organizations Encouraged to Vie for $10,000 Grand Prize
June 9, 2011 – Warwick Valley Central School District, the Town of Warwick, RECAP (Regional Economic Community Action Program, Inc.) and Platinum Sponsor WVT Communications are excited to announce Energize Warwick, a great new program.
Not-for-profit organizations (such as service clubs, booster clubs, PTAs, Scouts, houses of worship) serving the community and located within the Town of Warwick, Florida Union Free School District, Greenwood Lake Union Free School District, or Warwick Valley Central School District (including the Town of Chester portion of WVCSD) will be eligible to win the grand prize of $10,000 in cash, while our community works together to save energy and money as we improve comfort in our homes.
Residents in either the Town of Warwick, Florida Union Free School District, Greenwood Lake Union Free School District, or Warwick Valley Central School District (including the Town of Chester portion of WVCSD) can earn Energize Warwick points for their favorite not-for-profits. Energy assessments completed through NYSERDA Green Jobs/Green NY Home Performance with ENERGY STAR, DHCR Weatherization Assistance Program, and NYSERDA Multifamily Performance Program qualify for two (2) Energize Warwick points. Energy upgrades completed by a NYSERDA-approved Home Performance Contractor or DHCR Weatherization Assistance Provider qualify for an additional one (1) Energize Warwick point for each $1000 of energy upgrade.
The $10,000 cash Grand Prize will be awarded to the organization earning the most Energize Warwick points. Fifty percent of an organization’s total Energize Warwick points must be from energy upgrades.
Energize Warwick contest begins retroactive to November 15, 2010.
Submission deadline: Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 5 p.m.
