MAKING THE CALL DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER: A MESSAGE FROM DR. BRYANT
Click here to read about the factors considered when making school closure and delay decisions.
WHEN INCLEMENT WEATHER OCCURS
The Warwick Valley
Central School District may be forced to close or dismiss its
students early when inclement weather occurs. Closings,
delays, and early dismissal information will be posted on this
website, sent via SNN, posted on the districts Facebook and
Twitter pages and announced on the radio and TV stations listed
below. Please keep in mind that a power outage could prevent
closure information from being posted on the website, Facebook
and Twitter, or from being sent via SNN, or from being viewed on
cable TV. If the power is out, please listen for school closure
announcements on one of the radio stations listed below.
SCHOOL CLOSING,
DELAY AND EARLY DISMISSAL INFO SENT TO YOUR EMAIL
SNN (School News Notifier) is an opt-in e-mail alert system
for which parents and residents can sign up to receive e-mail
alerts from the district.

ORDER OF DISMISSALS
When there is an early dismissal, high school
and middle school students are
released first, followed by the parochial
schools and the elementary schools. This ensures that the
older siblings of elementary students arrive home before
younger brothers and sisters. The time between dismissals is
approximately 45 minutes. Whatever the grade level, parents
are reminded to make sure that all school-age children know
what to do in case of early dismissal.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
The following television and radio stations will announce
school closings, delays and early dismissals. The list is
different this year than in previous years. Some stations will
