SENIOR PROJECT

Senior Project is a nationally recognized program where students earn high school credit while learning about or working on something that deeply interests them.

Here is a short list of some Senior Projects from past senior classes:
• Designing and creating a prom gown
• Obtaining a pilots license
• Establishing a school improvement club
• Organizing and implementing a Year End Dinner Fund Raiser 
• Learning about and teaching Yoga
• Writing and illustrating a children’s story book

There are four components to the Senior Project:
1) the actual activity you perform,
2) a portfolio illustrating your experiences,
3) a 7 – 10 page paper on a topic related to your project and,
4) an oral presentation to a small group of teachers and community members.

The 2007/2008 school year will be the second pilot year of this exciting program.
Students who sign up for the program will be scheduled for the same
English and Government/Economics teachers who will help them create,
implement and report on their project. This course will
be immersed in the social studies/English curriculum in the spring of senior year.
