WARWICK VALLEY EMPTY BOWLS '12 - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Second annual Empty Bowls fundraising event to be held Sunday, May 6

Empty Bowls is a community meal of soup in handcrafted bowls, bread and dessert. Attendees keep their bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in our community and the world. This year's event will also include music and activities. The money raised is donated to local organizations which provide food to children and families in need.
Student volunteers are needed on the day of the event, and will receive community service credit. To add your name to the list of student volunteers, contact Justin Lapidus at justinlapidus25@hotmail.com.

Help out in the Radiology Department while learning about work in the field of radiology, including CTscan, MRI, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, and x-ray technicians, and radiology nurses.

BE A SPORTS "BUDDY" FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES
Beautiful People - adaptive sports programs for children with disabilities
Ongoing service during the school year and for monthly activities
Volunteer "buddies" provide one-on-one support to baseball and soccer players during games in the spring and fall, Saturday & Sunday 10 am-12 noon. Apply by May 1 to help during baseball season. Off-season opportunities once a month to assist children with bowling, indoor swimming, wiffle ball, etc. Experience with team sports helpful but not necessary.

Volunteers are needed as grooms, horse leaders, and side walkers to assist riders of all ages with disabilities. Must be 13 years old. Required to take two volunteer training courses.

The Warwick Valley Farmers' Market is looking for volunteers to help set up before and clean up after the market area on Sundays from May - November. Also, fundraising groups are welcome to schedule a Sunday to sell bottled water at the market.

High school volunteers are needed at the Black Dirt Farmers' Market in Pine Island to help with children's crafts & activities and face painting on Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. from June - October. Also, community non-profit groups groups are invited to be featured at the Farmers' Market.
