Boys and Girls capture Orange County League (o.c.l.) Titles
The boys' track team won the O.C.L. track championship of Saturday 5/24 scoring 144 points, Newburgh Free Academy (NFA) was second and Pine Bush was third. Senior Mike F. won the 800M and 1600 Meter Runs. Senior Dan P. won the steeple chase followed by teammate Ryan F. Ben B. and Ben P. went first and second in the pole vault with heights of 14’ and 13’6” respectively. The girls’ team scored 147 points to win the meet. Newburgh was second and Pine Bush was third. Kristen J. won the 100M and 200 M dash. Lillian G. won the 800 M, the 1500 M and the 3000 M run. The girls' 3200 M relay team of Megan M., Lillian G., Jaqueline K. and Tori P. finished first in the meet. Ashley V. won the Javelin with a throw of 101 feet 6 inches. Team will compete in Section IX Championship on Friday 5/30 at Monroe.

Brandon M’s Bat Heats Up
Brandon M.’s bat has been a spark this past week going three for three in the loss to Kingston and then going 3 for 4 against Monticello in the 16 – 4 win. Eric K. went the distance for the Wildcats against Kingston and Bryan H., Eric S., and Jake W. each pitched against Monticello. Tom B. hit a homerun for the Wildcats and contributed 2 RBIs. The Wildcats are anxiously awaiting the Section 9’s seeding committee’s release of the tournament schedule this week. Wildcats could host a home game at the high school.

Kate S. has Two Hits vs. Monroe-Woodbury
Girls’ softball dropped games to Monroe-Woodbury and Valley Central this week. The team will play Cornwall on 5/28 at home at 4PM. Wildcats record of 9 – 13 could get them a post-season berth. Kate S. had two hits in the 5-3 loss to Monroe-Woodbury.

Boys Lacrosse Seeded 6th in Section Tournament
Kevin C. scored 2 goals while Colin B., John K. and Emmit O. each contributed 1 in a 10 – 5 loss to Valley Central. The Wildcats finish the season 10 – 8 and seeded 6th in the section 9 tournament. They will travel to Minisink on 5/29 for a 4:30 game. John K. has recorded a 98 point season (tops in the state) and will look to help the team advance to the semifinals with a win at Minisink.

Girls Lacrosse Division Champs
The Warwick Girls' Lacrosse Team defended their title defeating Valley Central 8 – 7 on 5/20 to earn the division championship. The girls then defeated Saugerties on 5/21 and Middletown on 5/23. Haley W., Megan C., and Jeannette A. each contributed 2 goals as the Wildcats defeated Middletown 16 - 6. Wildcats are seeded third in the Section IX Lacrosse Tournament and will take on second-seed Pine Bush at Dietz Stadium on 5/27 at 4:30 PM.

Peter K. Still Battling in Section 9 Meet
Due to inclement weather Peter K. is competing for third place in Section IX Tournament at New Paltz. The super sophomore will play a match on Tuesday, 5/27, and if he wins will advance to the State tournament in Long Island.

Rich L. Qualifies for State Finals
Senior Co – Captain Rich L. has qualified for the State Golf Championships in Ithaca, New York this coming weekend. The senior played well enough to qualify and will take a shot at the state golf title.

Girls Golf at Section 9 Meet on 5/27
The girls’ golf team will compete at the section 9 championships this week on Tuesday 5/27. The Section Championship also serves as the state qualifier. First Round Results at West Point's O.C.L. Tournament are Warwick’s Noele G. (117), Kaitlyn C. (120) and Meg R. (123).
