Friendship Games Rained Out – Cats to Host Decathlon

The Warwick Track Teams will hold the annual Section 9 Decathlon this week on Monday and Tuesday 5/12 and 5/13. The event is a two-day 10 event competition to see who will be crowned the section's top overall track and field athlete. The boys and girls will travel to Monroe Woodbury to compete in the throwers' pentathlon on Monday 5/12. Eric C., Tom K., and Matt B. as well as females Ashley V. and Samantha K. will compete in the 5 event competition.

billy j.’s Grand Slam Keys Wildcat Sweep of Valley Central

Senior Billy J. hit a grand slam homerun in the second game of the three-game series to key the Wildcats' sweep of Valley Central. In game three of the series, Brandon M. and Sam C. each hit homeruns and Bryan H. pitched 7 shut-out innings in the Wildcat victory. On Wednesday the team  traveled to Pine Bush and defeated the Bushmen 11 – 3 behind freshman sensation Nick G.’s pitching performance. Greg V. had three hits including a double and Jon M. went 4 – 4 at the plate. The Wildcats are currently 13 -3 heading into an important division series with Washingtonville.

Lady 'Cats Knock off state's 5th-ranked team

Behind Kate S.'s six strike outs the Lady Wildcats defeated the state's 5th-ranked team (Kingston) 7 – 3. Kim S. had two hits and two RBI’s in the win. On Tuesday the Wildcat women defeated SS Seward 3 -2. Katie R. spread out 4 hits over 4 innings and Siobhan B. drove in 2 runs in the win. The girls defeated Wallkill on Thursday to win three in a row, capped by the first homerun at Warwick over the new fence by senior Alysha J. (earned the hole team ice cream from Coach Sirico) in the Wildcats' big win over Wallkill. The girls are home Wednesday at Memorial Park against Middletown. First pitch is 4 PM.

john k. Contributes 5 Goals and 5 Assists vs. Washingtonville

Following a close 1 point loss to Valley Central in which Byron Q. had three goals and an assist and Sean M. scored two goals, the Wildcats bounced back against Washingtonville with a 16 – 2 division victory. John K. has a hand in 10 points scoring 5 goals and giving 5 assists in a winning effort. Brent H. scored his first goal for Warwick and Steven C. contributed 10 saves in the goal. The team will take on Minisink on Monday at Minisink and then FDR at home on the 14th beginning at 4:30 at Sanfordville.

Play Valley Central in tough Loss

The girls lacrosse team played Valley Central tough in a 9 – 7 loss. Alexa J., Olivia D., Sarah B. and Megan C. scored for the Wildcats. Ally S. had two saves as the ladies get ready for a division game on Monday against Minisink and then return home on Thursday 5/15 against Washingtonville. The 'Cats are 6 – 6 overall and 2 -1 in division.

peter k. defeats newburgh free academy's number one singles player

Peter K. continues to play well in the number one singles spot defeating NFA’s number one singles player in the Wildcats loss at NFA on 5/8. The Tennis Team will compete in the Orange County League Championship beginning on Tuesday 5/13 and finishing on 5/15 before the Section 9 tournament begins the following week.

Knocks of Washingtonville to stay Undefeated in Division Play

The boys’ golf team kept their perfect season in league play intact as they defeated Washingtonville 212 – 213. Ryan M. lead the way with a 38 over nine holes while Jack L., (41), Tim H. (44), Dan D. (44), and Rich L. (45) all played well for the Wildcats on Washingtonville’s home course. The Golf Team secured the Division Title and ran their record to 13 -1 (7 – 0 in division). Boys will take on Valley Central at home on 5/12, and will be at Sullivan West on 5/14.

Girls Record 7 – 4 Overall

The girls golf team is now 4 – 2 in division and 7 – 4 overall. The Lady 'Cats lost to Middletown this past week but had a solid performance. Led by Corinne S.’s 54 on the Country Club's front 9. The girls take on Valley Central at home on 5/12 and travel to Newburgh Free Academy on 5/13 before taking on Valley Central at Town of Wallkill Country Club on Wednesday 5/14.
