Boys and Girls off to Great Start
The Warwick Track and Field team started the season with victories over Port Jervis and Minisink heading in to a big meet against Valley Central. The VC Meet kicks off at 4 PM on Tuesday April 15th.
Baseball
Wildcats cruise to 5 Wins
The Wildcats are off to a great start, riding a 5 game win streak heading into the Goshen Doubleheader this Saturday. The 7 – 2 victory over Middletown was capped off by a Jon M. triple with the bases loaded and a strong 6 innings by Eric K. John M. blasted two homeruns against MW and Eric S. added a double as the Wildcats secured a 9 – 3 victory. The Wildcats’ will open a series with Washingtonville home on 4/14 and 4/15 before traveling to Washingtonville on 4/17.

Elise P. Pitches to Victory
The girls softball team defeated Burke Catholic by a score of 7 – 5 for their third win of the season. Kim S. knocked in two runs to lead the offensive attack. Elise P. struck out six and recorded the win. Nicole V. added two hits and Shannon W. tripled for Warwick. The girls host Pine Bush on Monday 4/14 and travel to Saugerties on 4/15 and Middletown on 4/16. The team has defeated Rondout Valley and Seward in their first two weeks for three wins.

Knock off top-ranked Kingston at Dietz Stadium
The boys' Lacrosse team is currently 3 -3 heading into the week, following a 13 – 7 win over Kingston. Byron Q. and Mark H. contributed 4 goals each in the win. Emmet O., John K. and Kevin C. each contributed 2 goals. Steven C. had 14 saves for the Wildcats. The Wildcats lost two close games this past week to Saugerties 8 – 7 and to Monroe in overtime. The Wildcats defeated Highland 18 -2 behind Mark H.'s 7 goals and Emmet O.’s 4 goals. The Wildcats take on tough Red Hook and Pine Bush teams before the much-anticipated Minisink match – up on Friday 4/18 at home.

Two Games Opening Week
The Warwick girls stepped up and defeated Burke Catholic in double overtime Saturday for their second win of the season. Megan C. and Shannon M. added 5 goals each. Ally S. had 14 saves for the Wildcats in the goal. Alison S. and Haley W. each scored for the 'cats. The girls take on Minisink on 4/14 at home and then NFA on 4/17. Both start at 4:30 PM.

Peter K. Leads Way
Sophomore sensation Peter K. and Ross I. both won in singles as the Wildcat boys improved to 3 -1 overall with a 7 – 0 win over Monticello. Oliver L. and Miller H. led the way in first doubles as the cats continue to roll. Warwick will take on Minisink on 4/14 and Goshen on 4/15 at Goshen before returning home against Port on 4/17. .

Wildcats Undefeated on the Lynx
Warwick defeated Port Jervis 221 – 250 this week behind strong play from behind Ryan M.'s 36 (par on 9 holes). Danny D. was second for the Wildcats, who improved to 4 – 0 and 2 – 0 in league. The 'Cats will be at VC this week and host Minisink on 4/15.

Ladies off to 3 wins in a row
The girls' golf team improved to 3 – 0 with wins over Middletown and Washingtonville. Warwick golfers Noelle G. (53), Allison D. (57) and Kim S. (62) led the way on a par 36 course (Wallkill Country Club’s back 9). The girls will try and stay perfect this week against Goshen on Tuesday 4/15 at the Warwick Country Club before taking on Burke Catholic at Hickory Hill on 4/16.
