Basketball
The Varsity Girls earned a trip to the big dance (the section 9 basketball tournament) with one of the best seasons in many years. They were defeated by Washingtonville in the tournament after a terrific season. The girls recorded 13 wins this year under Coach Jim O’Brien. Correction...It was Anna B. whose shooting was the difference in the final regular season game (sister Samantha is attending college at University of Delaware).

Basketball
Wildcat boys’ basketball team finished out the season 15 – 5
under Coach Gary Vyskocil and were defeated in Sectional
Tournament at Middletown. The team had a terrific year and
will miss contributions of its seniors Joe M., Chris W.,
Isai R., Malcolm B., Ryan B., Beau T. and Noel D.
Great season for the Wildcats.
Boys
and Girls Indoor Track
Boys and Girls send 18 to state meet
The girls track team will send 7 to compete in the state meet at Cornell this weekend. Jenna M. qualified in both the pole vault and triple jump (school record triple jump mark of 35’11”). Tori P. and Lillian G. qualified in the 1000 Meters (Lillian set school record with time of 2:53.41). Claire P. will compete in the 600 meters. The girls 4 X 800 M team of Tori, Lillian, Claire, Kayla L. and Megan M. will head up to Cornell as well. The boys’ team qualified the 4 X 800 Meter team (Brad A., Ryan F., Greg M., and Mike F.). Ben B. will compete in the Pole Vault and Dan P. as well as Alex L. will compete in the 1600 Meters.

Wrestling
Shane C. to State Meet
The Varsity Wrestlers had a strong showing at the Section IX tournament. Shane C. (8th grade) will head to the state tournament in Rochester this weekend and compete at the 96 lb. weight class. Shane and the rest of the Section IX champions have had sectional practices this week in preparation for the state final.

Seniors Lead Way in Section Championship
The girls cheer team put together there best routine yet at the Section IX Championships held at Kingston H.S. The girls finished in the top 10 in their division for cheer and dance led by seniors Chelsea E., Sammy Jo V. and Kelly K. The team will have its final showing of the year at the Ultamania Basketball Game this weekend.
Warwick
Hockey (almost club status)
Finish 2nd in Mid School State Hockey
Warwick boys defeated Cornwall on Friday 3/1 by a score of 5 -0. Brendan J. and Steve C. as well as Joel S. scored for the Warwick Team. On 3/2 the boys defeated St. Mary’s of Long Island by a score of 5 -1. In the final the boys took on Pedmeg from Buffalo and lost 5 -3 in a very good game. The team finished 2nd in the mid size schools HVHSIHA Tournament.

State Meet for Jesse A. and anne D.P. and elise P.
Anne D. P., Elise P. as well as Jesse A. competed in the state championships this past week held at Lake Placid. Jesse placed 16th overall. The girls’ results are not yet final.
