Joel S. has been selected as this week's Warwick Valley High
School Student – Athlete of the Week, sponsored by ALLSTATE
Insurance Bill Garcia Agency of Warwick. The senior hockey
defensemen has been a constant force for the Warwick Hockey
Team (consisting of many Warwick H.S. students) that is
currently 12 – 5 with two ties. Joel's presence on the ice
has earned him Defenseman of the Year honors and several
all-tournament team selections. The Warwick team competes in
the H.V.H.S..I.H.A. and has earned a berth in the State
Tournament to be held in Saugerties (2/29, 3/1 and 3/2).
Joel would like to continue to play hockey in college and has narrowed his college choices to Seton Hall and University of Maryland (Baltimore Campus). Joel is a very good student and maintains an 89 average through a very challenging course load. He plans to study business in college.
Joel is the son of Winston and Marilyn S. of Warwick. His brother Courtney was an excellent hockey player and graduate of Warwick before earning a B.S. degree from Virginia Tech (2007). The Bill Garcia All State Insurance Agency is proud to recognize Joel for his accomplishments in the classroom and on the ice.
